Técnicas de trasplante capilar
Throughout history, men and women have battled with hair loss using variety of treatments. In 1550 BC Egypt they used to swallow snake oil, in 420 BC Greece Hippocrates created a mixture of cumin, pigeon droppings, horseradish and nettles; it didn’t work. Fast forward to 17th century France – wigs were introduced into fashion by King Louis Xlll who went prematurely bald, not a treatment but a disguise. The early 20th century was an industrial marvel, as was the creation of various mechanical devises like: thermocaps and glass combs.
The greatest breakthrough was finally seen in 1939, when a Japanese dermatologist Dr Shoji Okuda successfully pioneered a procedure for grafting hair from the back of the scalp onto patients’ bald patches. This procedure became known as hair transplant; today it has become the 6th most performed surgical cosmetic surgery among men.
Hair transplant is a permanent solution for those experiencing pattern hair loss, receding hairline or traction alopecia. The transplanted hair grows healthy and naturally as it’s no longer prone to any kind of alopecia.
However, the procedure is not recommended for anyone experiencing diffuse hair loss, spot baldness, or for those with insufficient hair at the donor site. The surgery also is generally not recommended for anyone under the age of 25, since it is difficult to assess the long-term stability of donor hair and the extent of future hair loss.

HOW IS A HAIR TRANSPLANT PERFORMED?
There are two treatment method that we use in our clinic: Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) and Direct Hair Implantation (DHI).
- Follicular Unit Extraction (known as: FUE)
The most popular technique, as it has minimal downtime and is not very invasive, the FUE method involves a surgeon manually harvesting individual hair follicles from a donor area (usually the back of the head) under local anesthesia, and then grafting them into new hair channels at the appropriate area to achieve a natural look.
With this technique, the head is usually shaved down for the surgery, healing after such procedure takes place in under 7 days.
For those who want a faster recovery we offer FUE Sapphire; in this case, the instrument to create new channels will be made of sapphire, a material stronger than steel it makes incisions that are more precise.
- Direct Hair Implantation (known as: DHI)
The latest technique, it is popular for being less invasive easier to disguise, like FUE the DHI method involves a surgeon manually harvesting individual hair follicles from a donor area (the back of the head) under local anesthesia, the implanting however, is made with a use of a mechanical device called Choi Pen.
Such procedure reduces the time hair grafts spend outside of the body, insuring hair regrowth. The head is shaved only at the donor area, and healing takes place in under 5 days.
